Welcome to my "now" page, which I'll be using to tell you how I'm currently doing,
and what's currently going on in this season of my life. At some point, I'll probably begin putting my "now"
updates on a separate archive page. For now, expect a long list here.

You might ask, why not just make blog posts? My blog posts tend to contain more thoughts and ideas, as well
as technical details of projects I'm working on for all of my fellow nerds out there.

interesting as soon as I found it. If you've broke up with social media and want to share life updates,
make your own now page!

-
December 2025

-

- Welcome to my first "now" update!
-

-

- Right now, I'm slowing down for the winter in terms of my endurance training.
- While the weather is gloomy,
- I'd like to spend more time focusing on projects at home that I've had on the backburner during the summer season.
- Those projects include distancing from social media, writing some programs for fun, reading more books and blogs, quitting doomscrolling,
- and doing more fulfilling things with friends and family.
-

-

- Since March, I've been super into cycling and running. This past season of endurance training I completed three 5K races, one triathlon, and one gravel cycling race.
- My most recent 5K race was the turkey trot. This year, I set the goal of completing it in
- less than 20 minutes, and I'm happy to say I did it in 19 minutes and 15 seconds. My pace was 6:12/mi. The next goal
- is to complete a 5K with a sub-6 minute mile pace.
-

-

- I am currently still employed at O'Reilly Auto Parts writing software for them. Still working on the point-of-sale,
- currently working on a project to improve performance and reliability when we save a customer's invoice data.
- I've learned a lot about multi-threading this year, and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to
- be able to apply what I've learned into making things better.
-

-

- Life is good - cold, but good. Some things could be better, but they could always be.
- I miss riding my bike outdoors, and riding indoor on the stationary one isn't nearly as fun.
- I realize though that this season of life is temporary, short, and will be complete before I even realize it.
- I'd really like to make the most out of it though so I can be my best self for this next year. I may slow down on running and
- cycling in this upcoming year. Mainly so I can enjoy a wider net of things in life, which I'm currently experimenting with.
-

-

- Hopefully moving into a house this spring so I don't have to walk up stairs to be home. I've enjoyed the apartment life,
- but it's starting to weigh on me. Fortunately my landlord hasn't been incredibly difficult, but I'd like to live somewhere
- that feels more accomodative, especially to my cycling habits.
-

-

- Anywho, that's my little update. Shoot me an email if you want to hear from me!

+
August 2026

+
Finally, another now update!

+
Summer's coming to an end, so I'm finally slowing down just a little bit to be able to write these words.
+

+
Like usual, I've been biking and coding all spring and summer. I talked about slowing down biking and running in my last update, but I definitely haven't done one of those things. As of today, the 14th of August, I've now rode 7,790.2 miles across all of my bikes. At the beginning of the year, I gave myself the goal of biking 30 miles a day, which rounds out to precisely 10,950 miles. Obviously this number is pretty close to 11,000 miles. And what fun would it be if I only did 11,000 miles when I could do an average of 1,000 miles a month for a grand total of 12,000 miles this year. I'm sitting above pace on my original goal where the extreme goal of 12,000 miles will be possible so long as nothing big comes up.
+

+
I'd like to get back into running, probably next year. To stay on track with the 12,000 miles ultra-goal I now have, there's not much wiggle room to throw in some running miles unfortunately.

+
All of this to say, I'm having the time of my life on the bike. I've noticed myself getting faster and I've really dialed in my ability to consistently manage my sleep schedule and exercise daily. My mental health hasn't been any higher than it has this year. Sometimes it does feel like I'm overextending, where I always am on a bike. Once fall comes around, I will probably slow down since I am currently sitting 1,000 miles ahead of pace, meaning I will hit 12,000 miles if for the rest of the year I only do 30 miles a day on average.
+

+
But what fun would that be?

+
Enough about biking. I'm going to be working on getting a backpacking setup going soon so I can camp more. I'd really like to spend as much time as I can outdoors going to new places or even familiar places that I really like.

+
Also, you may have noticed things look a bit different around here. I "modernized" what my website looks like today to try to make it a little more appealing on the eyes. I didn't want to have some vibe-coded nonsense that looks the exact same as everyone else, so here's my creative vision on what a website can look like in it's most simple form.

+
I'm out of time to type, so I'll leave it here.

+
Thanks for catching up with me, and feel free to shoot me an email any time you'd like!
